The scenery and majesty of the Alaskan Inside Passage is beyond verbal description. It ranged from mornings that looked like a scene from middle-earth to afternoons that could only be a product of a brilliant and artistic mind. The sky was bluer, the trees grew taller and the mountains more powerful than any I had seen before as they contrasted with the smooth waterways that act as highways in this part of the state. Our trip was only in the South East arm of Alaska but no one felt shorted on the experience.
One of the nicest parts of the cruise was the smooth waters. As the ship traverses the channels and passes the only thing breaking the water was the breath of the whales and the occasional plop in the water by a bird of prey or sea lions. All were innumerable. At any given time an hour spent out doors would show them all. There are a few areas where the ships course took her outside the protection of the outer islands but most of the trip was smooth sailing. It is a good choice if someone is looking for a longer cruise without the normal occurrences that give travelers sea sickness.
